The Happy Childhood Project was born in 2014, inspired by our community health work, which revealed an urgent need to care for the youngest children in vulnerable communities. In Peru, many children grow up facing harsh realities—extreme poverty, domestic violence, and family neglect. Nearly half suffer from anemia, and infectious diseases are widespread among this fragile population. Scientific research continues to affirm the profound impact that early childhood care has on long-term development.
No other stage of life offers such a rich window for discovery, wonder, and lifelong learning. That’s why we felt deeply compelled to act.
Happy Childhood focuses on equipping parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools they need to care for their children. Through workshops and personalized guidance on nutrition, family dynamics, and attachment-based parenting, we empower families in Alto Mayo to nurture their children’s full and healthy development—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

We also work to raise public awareness about the importance of early childhood care by creating educational materials and sharing them through radio broadcasts and social media campaigns.

In 2023, we strengthened our efforts through partnerships with Operation San Andrés, Compassion Peru, and local church leaders—organizations that share our heartfelt vision for children.
Together, this alliance enables us to reach more families than ever before, working hand in hand with churches, community schools, and volunteer missionaries to build a brighter future for every child.
